Before Air Force One has even touched down on American soil from Joe Biden‘s trip to a grieving Israel, the White House has just announced the President will be speaking to the country and the world on Thursday. “Tomorrow, President Biden will address the nation to discuss our response to Hamas’ terrorist attacks against Israel and Russia’s ongoing brutal war against Ukraine,” said Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierrethis afternoon as Biden flew back from a quick trip to the Jewish state. “This speech will be delivered from the Oval Office at 8:00pm ET.” Lending gravity to the situation in Israel after the murderous Hamas terrorist attack on the Jewish state on October 7 and a looming invasion of Gaza, this will be a rare time that Biden delivers an address from the Oval Office.
The only other time in this first term that the president has delivered an Oval Office address was on the debt ceiling deal on June 2.
More commonly Biden’s speeches are delivered from other locations on the White House grounds. All cable newsers, broadcast networks and online platforms are expected to carry tomorrow’s speech live.
With the House of Representatives lacking a full-time Speaker for the last two-weeks thanks to GOP in-fighting, any funding allocations for either Israel or Ukraine’s fight against Russian invasion are stalled.
