Ben Shephard's 'special' message from Phillip Schofield after replacing him on This Morning

TV's cherished duo Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard have stepped into the shoes of former This Morning favourites Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, with the pair confirming they've received heartfelt messages from their predecessors.

Phillip Schofield, a household name, departed from the show in a wave of controversy last year after admitting to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger colleague.The veteran presenter had consistently charmed audiences since 2009 alongside co-host Holly.

Holly, after returning post-Phil's exit, decided to step back for good in October, choosing to put her family first. New hosts Cat and Ben started this year, and as they gear up to return from their summer hiatus, they've shared some warmth extended by Phil and Holly.

Chatting with The Telegraph, Ben revealed: "I know Holly very well and I've been in touch with her. She sent us both flowers when we started, and I got a message from Phil as well.They said it's a special, precious show and you're going to love it, just make the most of it." Cat was equally touched by the gesture, saying: "It was the most beautiful surprise to get a gorgeous bunch of flowers and a handwritten note in my dressing room from Holly.
