The One Show's Alex Scott had to step in when co-host Clara Amfo highlighted time constraints following an interview that ran over.
On Wednesday's episode of the BBC hit show, viewers saw Alex Scott, 39 and co-star Clara Amfo, 40, welcome First Dates star Fred Sirieix and EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Oberman.
Delving into his latest book, Fred reminisced about his youth and love for Britain. Alex kicked off the chat stating: "We know how proud you are of your home country but you are an honorary Brit." Fred unfolded the tale of his cross-Channel journey, saying: "I came here when I was 20 so I've been in the UK for 32 years, which is longer than I've been in France and my love affair with the UK started when I was 14.
I loved speaking in English and I was writing poetry in English and I loved the idea of living my life in English." He further shared a teen memory from an exchange visit filled with youthful infatuation, explaining: "I remember going to an assembly and I saw so many girls.
