Strictly Come Dancing's professional dancers have been speaking out about being back together for the first time as they kicked off rehearsals for the 2024 series.

The start of their work on the string of pro numbers that will feature throughout the series began on Monday (July 22). But it comes amid the backdrop of the controversy about the culture and treatment of contestants taking part in the BBC One dance contest.

On Monday, former contestant Will Bayley said he suffered a serious injury while performing a jump in rehearsals for the programme, and has claimed there was "no duty of care".

The Paralympian has said producers were told the jump from a table during a routine was too dangerous, but he was encouraged to do it anyway, and after he was injured show bosses made him feel as though it was his fault.
