BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Nigel Harman has withdrawn from this series of the show after suffering from an injury.The former Eastenders actor, 50, has been partnered up with Katya Jones this season and the duo were a firm favourite to win.
The pair were due to dance a Charleston this evening to Step in Time from Mary Poppins for Musicals Week this evening.But just hours before the show kicks off, the BBC has confirmed that he has had to leave the competition and won't be returning.
The Mirror reports that a BBC spokesperson has confirmed his exit as they said: "Unfortunately Nigel has sustained an injury which means he is unable to perform in tonight’s show and has had to withdraw from Strictly." A post on the show’s Instagram page wished Harman a “speedy recovery” and said the couple will be “very much missed by our entire Strictly family”.Nigel and Katya appeared on Strictly It Takes Two last night to discuss upcoming Musicals Week with presenter and fellow Strictly star Fleur East.
He admitted he was 'overwhelmed' by the support from his fans, saying: "It’s kind of a bit overwhelming that people are sitting there voting for us.
