Anton Du Beke has weighed in on the latest Strictly Come Dancing drama during an appearance on This Morning as he discussed Amanda Abbington's potential 'return'.

The Strictly star, who is best known for being a professional dancer and now a judge on the BBC dance contest, appeared on the ITV programme to chat to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary about his latest novel.

But the dancer-turned-author, 57, couldn't leave without speaking about the Strictly gossip as he broke his silence after Amanda Abbington quit the contest earlier this week.

The Sherlock actress, 49, was unable to perform with her partner Giovanni Pernice last weekend due to 'personal reasons'. On Monday night (October 23), former Strictly star and host Fleur East broke the shocking news on Strictly's spin-off show It Takes Two as she announced: "We've received the news that Amanda is not returning to Strictly." The following day Amanda then shared a photo of her dancing shoes alongside a lengthy caption, explaining it was with the 'deepest regret' that she had to leave the show.
