Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed one of its professional dancers has been injured and therefore won't take part in the upcoming Christmas special.
Carlos Gu was been given a major boost earlier this month after not being given a celebrity partner this year. The dancer missed out on competing in the 2024 run of the BBC One dance contest, which returned back in September and will soon come to an end in December.
But it was been revealed that Carlos would be joining by fellow pro Kai Widdrington in getting a partner for this year's Christmas special.
It was said that Carlos would be dancing with Vogue Williams, with the TV star being one of six celebrities signing up to take part in the festive show. READ MORE: BBC Strictly Come Dancing pro deals Chris McCausland blow just before quarter final However, Strictly has confirmed Carlos has picked up an injury and despite starting rehearsals with Vogue, he won't be able to continue and Gorka Marquez has stepped in his place A Strictly Come Dancing spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, professional dancer, Carlos Gu, has sustained an ankle injury so is unable to participate in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special alongside contestant Vogue Williams.
