BBC chaos as broadcasting legend 'quits show' after 11 years

BBC broadcaster Mishal Husain has reportedly stepped down from her Radio 4 Today show after 11 years.The highly acclaimed journalist, 51, has hosted the show, which is on air Monday to Saturday between 6am to 9am, since 2013.

According to The Times, Mishal stepped down from her role yesterday (Friday 22nd November). However, it’s reported she will remain on air until the beginning of 2025, with a reported 18 months of discussion before the decision was made.

An insider told the publication: "After 11 years Mishal has reached the point where the 3.30am alarm call is no longer a welcome noise." "She is very highly thought of and there will be an extremely big effort to make sure she’s accommodated well elsewhere," they added.

OK! has contacted Mishal’s representatives for comment, with the BBC declining to comment on the reports. Mishal presents the show, which discusses news and current affairs, alongside Emma Barnett, Justin Webb, Amol Rajan and Nick Robinson.The news comes after the broadcaster, who has been working at the BBC for more than 25 years, hinted at her exit from the show earlier this year.
