BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent offered a glimpse into her past during Tuesday's programme. The 53-year-old presenter was in conversation with sports correspondent John Watson when she made a surprising revelation about her younger years.
The discussion followed Emma Raducanu's appearance at the Abu Dhabi Open without a coach, after her previous one chose to step down.
As John suggested the tennis star would be seeking a new coach, co-host Jon Kay jokingly proposed Sally for the role, asking: "Are you offering?" She quickly responded: "No!
Can you imagine me?! I'd be the worst. My mum was a tennis coach and she completely gave up on me. I was a disaster!" Jon found her admission amusing, laughing and responding: "I don't believe it for a minute." Later in the show, as they anticipated an interview with singer Cyndi Lauper, the BBC stars encouraged weather presenter Carol Kirkwood to showcase her singing abilities.
