A BBC boss has hinted that Line of Duty may make a comeback after Sunday night’s finale episode broke viewing records. Loyal fans of the police show have been hooked as they followed Ted Hastings, Steve Arnott and Kate Fleming in their lengthy inquiry into finding out the identity of the fourth man, also known as ‘H’, since the series began in 2012.
And, as the sixth series unveiled Detective Superintendent Ian Buckells as the bent copper AC-12 had been searching for, the show broke viewing records while it aired on Sunday 2 May.The explosive finale, which left some fans furious and confused, pulled in an average of 12.8million viewers – which is a record for the hit show.
