Baz Ashmawy has often spoken about his strained relationship with his father who walked out on his family when the RTÉ presenter was just a child.
Although they reconciled in his teenage years, their relationship was still rocky. The nature of their bond led to Baz not speaking to his Egyptian father, Mohammed, for an entire year before his death.
He explained that it was a ‘silly row’ that led to him cutting off contact with his father. Mohammed passed away suddenly when he was in his 50s from a heart attack.
Now Baz shared that he ‘regretted’ that a small falling out led to them not speaking before his untimely death. ‘We had an argument for some reason and we hadn’t spoken in a year.
