Barcelona are reportedly preparing a plan to keep hold of Dani Olmo if they are unable to re-register him this winter - but it would open the door for Manchester United to swoop in.
Olmo has been the centre of a media storm in recent weeks after La Liga blocked attempts by Barca to re-register him for the remainder of the season after they failed to meet the requirements of their Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
Before the new year, Barca had suggested they were confident of re-registering Olmo after they agreed an £83m sponsorship deal for VIP boxes at Camp Nou once it reopens.
Despite this, La Liga took Olmo off their website, suggesting that the plan to re-register him has not yet worked. The player's agent, Andy Bara, has insisted his client is committed to remaining at Barcelona and that he is not interested in negotiating with any other club at this stage.
