Sheenah Nelson, a member of Helensburgh Garelochside Rotary Club, was named a Rotary Champion last week – for her work to install lifesaving defibrillators and train residents throughout the area to use CPR.
Dedicated Sheenah has campaigned to make the public aware of the need to take action and improve survival rates following heart attacks and cardiac arrests.She personally leads training sessions each week, and arranges fundraising for community defibrillators.
Sheenah’s Heartstart programme has helped to train more than 5,000 people to deliver CPR and use the 200 defibrillators that have been installed across the local area.
