Mark Flanagan has had more to worry about than just keeping fit during Super League’s lockdown. The Salford forward co-owns two coffee shops in Manchester with former team-mate Jon Wilkin, with the pair having 30 employees to support.
Their two Pot Kettle Black shops were forced to close in line with the rest of the industry last month, but they have managed to keep people in work - and support NHS workers - through an off-site bakery.
That has been producing much needed bread for the city, and through the Feed Our Heroes initiative, supplying the NHS and key workers staying at Gary Neville’s Hotel Football and Stock hotel.
