Bailiff comes to claim son's £1,600 lockdown fine - but mum asks: "Can we call it a cheese and wine event?"

A mum claimed there's "one rule for politicians and another rule for the public" after bailiffs turned up at her home over an unpaid lockdown fine.

Amanda Martindale's son Alex, 23, was at a seven-person gathering at a house on March 20 2021, during the third national lockdown.

On Tuesday (February 1) bailiffs turned up at the Martindale family home with a CPS collection order, after Amazon worker Alex decided against paying the fine. He said that police entered the property because they said they had received reports of screaming and shouting, and a number of Covid fines were issued to the attendees.
