So, when protests were taking place around the country--and the world--following George Floyd’s murder, people were disappointed to see the reggaetón singer stay so silent.On May 19th, in the early days of quarantine before Floyd’s death, Benito posted an Instagram photo with the caption “bye, me fui” which is the title of one of his songs, but also means, “bye I left.” Apparently, he meant that quite literally, because he didn‘t post again until August 20, when he encouraged young people in Puerto Rico to register so they can vote on November 3.
