Ayrshire carer who kept a toddler in a cage was spared jail for the abuse this morning.Claire Boyle's neglect only came to light after the older boy, who was covered in bruises, escaped from their flat through a window.

He squeezed through a six-inch gap between the frame and the pane and dropped four feet to the ground in just his pyjamas.When taken to hospital to be checked over, medics discovered so many bruises they thought he may have blood cancer or a blood clotting disorder.And when officers arrived at the address to investigate, after he was found wandering the streets in the rain on October 3, 2018, they found the two-year-old boy being kept in a homemade cage.Boyle was allowed to look after the kids despite her two previous.
