Jack Dwyer, then aged 16, told his teacher 'I will burn this place down so I don't have to come here' before torching Clifton Green Hub in Swinton.
He tampered with an inlet pipe to the gas meter in a games room, causing a leak of gas, and then started a huge fire which caused damage worth £16,000 and forced the closure of the facility following the devastating arson in March 2018.
But a judge spared him a jail sentence after hearing about his troubled background and that his mother was in prison at the time of the attack.
