Ayr Town Hall to host screening of classic Halloween film this week

Ayrshire film enthusiasts are in for a Halloween treat this week as Ayr Town Hall hosts a screening of horror classic F. W. Murnau’s Nosferatu.

Ayr Film Society in association with Ayr Arts Guild have arranged the screening of the iconic 1920s German Expressionist film on Thursday, October 31.Award winning organist Aaron Hawthorne will provide the music alongside the silent, black and white film originally released in 1922.The silent horror classic stars Max Schreck as Count Orlok alongside Gustav von Wangenheim as Thomas Hutter and Greta Schröder as Ellen Hutter and has long been a source of inspiration for directors and actors since its release over 100 years ago.Tickets are available on the door for £8.
