Aymeric Laporte believes the small St Mary's pitch played a role in Manchester City's draw against Southampton. City's 12-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 stalemate on the South coast.
Kyle Walker-Peters gave the Saints an early lead as he fired in a wonderful goal with the outside of his boot after just six minutes.
Pep Guardiola's side were far below their usual standards for the opening 30 minutes and were fortunate not to be two goals down after Armando Broja was narrowly flagged off-side after slotting in.
The Blues were much better towards the end of the half and into the second 45 minutes, though, with Laporte himself finding the equaliser as he powerfully headed in Kevin De Bruyne's free-kick.
