Grieving friends have paid tribute to a tragic Scots DJ who passed away at the age of just 42. Roy McLaren died at his home in Thornhill, Stirling, last month. The DJ, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 28, passed away just days after raving about the crowd at his last performance and launching a new label. He had played the Epicure Craft Beer Festival in Perth and wrote on Facebook: "Had a cracking day on Saturday, place was buzzing and an infinite number of 'one more tunes', hard to say no when everyone is dancing x."The Epicure Craft Beer Festival Perth page, run by organiser Greig Mason, replied to his comment, saying: "Thanks Roy, it was great working alongside you again, thanks for keeping the party going!!

Your tunes were amazing as always."And Roy replied saying he hoped they would work together again. He wrote: "Thanks so much mate, always a pleasure to work with yourself, and was an awesome day and lots of fun, hope we can do it again soon, much love x."But Greig and Roy - who was also a talented rugby player, turning out for Stirling County - never got the chance to work together again as Roy passed away on July 9.And Greig and other heartbroken pals have taken to social media to reveal their pain at his passing.

Greig wrote: "I woke up this morning to the incredibly sad news that my old chum Roy Mclaren had passed away earlier this week, he was only 42."Roy played a banging set at my first ever festival, the Fair City Craft Beer Fest back in August 22 and more recently at my newest festival, the Epicure Craft Beer Festival Perth at the end of June. "It's hard to believe that only two weeks ago we were laughing and joking together about old times and times yet to come.
