Audience 'boo' This Morning and Piers Morgan at ITV's National Television Awards

The audience were heard booing This Morning and Piers Morgan as ITV's live National Television Awards kicked off on Tuesday evening (September 5).

Host Joel Dommett took to the stage at the 28th NTAs 2023 and kicked off the star studded evening at the O2 Arena with a comical jibe at his own expense, joking he looked like a waiter.

However moments later, This Morning received a small boo as Joel claimed 'we all love' the ITV programme, with Piers Morgan attracting an even louder boo when getting a shout out from Joel. This Morning bosses were said to be concerned about whether the presenting team, including the likes of Holly Willoughby, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, would be booed when they were shown on camera to audiences.

Earlier this year, Phillip Schofield stepped down from the ITV daytime show after admitting to an affair with a younger male colleague leaving Holly to now present the show alone, joined by a number of other presenters on a roving rota.
