Asda has launched a new scheme to match the prices of budget retailer Home Bargains. While Tesco and Sainsbury's both have their own Aldi Price Match, this is the first time that one of the main supermarkets has gone head-to-head with another popular bargain store.

It's good news for shoppers though as it means the prices of even more products will be lowered - with toiletries, household, pet, baby and health items among those included.

A few food items have also been matched too, including a four-pack of Heinz Beanz for £2.75. Asda shoppers will be saved from making an extra trip to Home Bargains and can also get the price matched products delivered, something the budget store only offers for larger items or bulk buys.

It comes on the back of Asda's Dropped & Locked promotion, which was announced last month, with the retailer reducing the price of more than 100 products and locking them in place until the end of the year.
