If Manchester United need any inspiration after a difficult opening few weeks to the season then this weekend’s opponents could provide it.
Erik ten Hag’s side have six points on the board but none of their opening three performances have been particularly positive, while there remain several unanswered squad questions as the Reds seek solutions in the closing days of the transfer window.
United have made strides under Ten Hag but need to continue to build on that platform. And patience and persistence will be required for the Reds to challenge at the top.
