Police have made an arrest after a "man with a weapon" was spotted on the M8 in Glasgow.Emergency services raced to the busy motorway, near Chapelhall, after receiving a report of the incident on the slip road at Junction 6 at around 8.55am on Monday.
Prior to their arrival, the man had left the scene on foot.An extensive search of the area was carried out and a firearm was found.
It has since been recovered by police. Officers from Police Scotland say a 35-year-old man was subsequently traced and has been arrested.
Enquiries are ongoing and cops are appealing for information following what they have described as a "targeted incident".Pictures taken from the scene on Monday afternoon showed an area cordoned off with a dog hander at the scene.
