Police have issued an appeal for help to identify a man whose body was found in woodland on a hillside in Lancashire. The body was uncovered by a member of the public at Longridge Fell on Easter Sunday (April 9).

Emergency services, including the Bowland Mountain Rescue Team, were then called to the scene just off Birdy Brow. Lancashire Police said despite extensive investigations, officers have not been able to identify who the man is.

Detectives believe the body had been there 'for some weeks, but maybe as long as a few months'. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community The man's death is being treated as 'unexplained', though there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
