The Greater Manchester mayor asked the public to support Greater Manchester Police (GMP) over Easter and the coming summer. “We want this to be a good summer, not a summer of acrimony and distrust,” he said, during a remote press conference on Thursday morning (April 1).
Mr Burnham said police are expecting a weekend of “extremely high demand” ahead and there will be extra officers on patrol. He condemned revellers who gathered in Castlefield for a rave on Wednesday night (March 31).
