justjared.comAmerican Idol is celebrating Mother’s Day! The Top 7 contestants paid tribute to moms with songs dedicated to their loved ones during Sunday night’s (May 9) episode.
Also during the show, the contestants all chose a song by Coldplay to perform, but before hitting the stage, they were mentored by the band’s frontman Chris Martin.
During the two-hour episode, viewers were able to vote to keep their favorite contestants in the show. At the end of the night, the Top 5 was announced, and two contestants were sadly sent home.
