Iain Dale booted an American journalist off his radio show in dramatic fashion last night - after the reporter backed Donald Trump's claims that diversity hiring caused the American Airlines jet crash.

The LBC presenter clashed with retired Army infantry colonel Kurt Schlichter and branded the American a "numbskull" - before ordering him to be taken off the air.

Columnist Schlichter, who is also a trial lawyer, ranted about the unevidenced theory, resulting in the radio presenter saying he "never" wanted to talk to the American again.

And he said he was the sort of person that makes the US look "ridiculous" on the world stage. The pair have since been publicly arguing on social media platform Twitter/X, where Dale called Schlichter an "obnoxious, rude, offensive" bigot. The Mirror reports it follows Mr Trump last night heavily suggesting that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programmes were to blame for a plane crash in Washington DC that killed 67 people on Wednesday.
