Amber Heard has claimed Johnny Depp 's body is covered in scars from self-inflicted cuts and burns. Heard, 34, has been giving evidence in Depp's libel case against News Group Newspapers for a third day.

Depp, 57, is suing NGN over a story published in The Sun in 2018 which branded him a "wife beater" - a claim which he strenuously denies.

During her time in the witness box today, Heard told the court she had "never" self-harmed but said her ex-husband did. She said: "His body is covered in scars and they are deep cuts and burns.

I asked him about it. "He told me about various scars and he could not feel the pain. His body was full of these scars.'' She went on to claim she saw the actor put out a cigarette on his face in front of her,
