Amanda Holden has defended her pal Piers Morgan after he quit Good Morning Britain this week, calling him a "good and loyal friend" and said she's "always there" for him.

The pair worked together as judges on Britain's Got Talent from 2007 until 2011 and have been close friends for years. Piers, 55, was thrust into the headlines this week as he walked away from his long-running slot on GMB over his outspoken comments about Meghan Markle.

He has since been defended by his celebrity pals including Amanda, 50, who said that he's a good mate despite their differences of opinion.

She shared a picture of the pair together on her Instagram page and wrote: "We've both been described as Marmite. "I don't always share the same opinions as him.
