Manchester United's interest in Altay Bayindir preceded Erik ten Hag's arrival and two attempts were made to sign the goalkeeper before last summer, according to his agent.
United confirmed the arrival of Bayindir in a £4.3million deal from Fenerbahce on deadline day, drafting the Turkish international in to provide cover for first-choice Andre Onana.
The 25-year-old had consistently been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer. Bayindir is yet to make a single appearance for United, with Ten Hag keen to play £47.2m signing Onana into form, but he evidently has big fans in Manchester.
That's according to his agent, Sefa Seyrek, who admits the Reds had registered interest as far back as 2021.
