Alleged murderers told ‘rot in hell’ as jury hears gunman recount going into ‘shock’ after pulling trigger

Michael Hillier has admitted shooting 38-year-old electrician Liam Smith outside his home in Wigan. The dad-of-two was then doused in acid.
Hillier, 39, claimed that he and his girlfriend Rachel Fulstow plotted to attack Mr Smith in revenge, following an allegation that she was raped by him in a hotel room after they met for a date.
She denies any involvement but Hillier has pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He and Ms Fulstow, 37, both deny murder. The public gallery at Minshull Street Crown Court was cleared by the judge on Monday afternoon, as Hillier was questioned about the killing. Remarks had been made from the public gallery including ‘he’s not a rapist’, ‘you piece of s***’ and ‘rot in hell, both of you’.
