The first phase of a £2.5bn Salford masterplan would see a huge new building built on the land of a former industrial unit north of Strawberry Hill, close to Peel Park.
It will create a new site for the University of Salford's acoustics centre. Over in Tameside, there is a plan to create a new food hall next to Denton’s civic square.
There is also movement on a massive complex with more than 800 apartments and a 120 bed hotel in the famous Wigan Pier area.
