Voters in Blackfriars and Trinity will go to the polls for a by-election this week. The new council ward in Salford, which was created earlier this year, covers a small area on the edge of Manchester city centre, mostly above Chapel Street.
The election was called after the death of Labour councillor Ray Walker, who died unexpectedly aged 57 during the summer following a 'sudden illness'.
