Alex Valle will reportedly be unveiled as a Celtic player on Wednesday. The defender has penned a one-year contract extension with Barcelona and will now join the Scottish Premiership champions on a season-long loan after completing medical tests, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Greg Taylor is the only recognised left-back on the books with the Scottish champions with Alexandro Bernabei out on loan in Brazil at Internacional.
Velle featured under Hansi Flick during pre-season, operating at right back as well as on the left-hand side of defence. However, the club have opted to allow him to leave in search of regular first-team football after a successful season at Levante last term.
All documents are said to be signed with a loan deal inching closer. Reports in Spain also suggest Valle's release clause has dropped to €3million after penning his new Camp Nou deal - which could see the Hoops attempt to make the move permanent next summer.Follow Record Sport on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for all of the up-to-the minute breaking news, video and audio on the SPFL, the Scotland national team and beyond.
