Celtic have agreed a deal with Dundee to sign their captain Luke McCowan. It comes after Scottish Premiership rivals Hibs saw a series of bids for the midfielder rejected - with Easter Road boss David Gray been desperate to land the Dundee midfielder throughout the summer.
But it appears that the capital club have missed out on a transfer for the 26-year-old – with Brendan Rodgers' side now leading the late race for a deal. Record Sport revealed earlier that the Hoops were monitoring the situation with the Dee midfielder - who has entered the final year of his current contract.
That appears to have tempted Dundee chiefs to cash in before the window slams shut. The highest bid offered by Hibs was at £800k according to Sky Sports, and Record Sport understands that Celtic will pay out £1m to bring in McCowan.
It’s also claimed the player has verbal agreement with the Hoops and is on his way to Glasgow's east end in an attempt to beat the 11pm deadline.
