Alex Lowry in line for new Rangers contract as Jon McLaughlin close to signing deal
dailyrecord.co.ukRangers are close to agreeing a new deal with Jon McLaughlin and also want to tie down teenage sensation Alex Lowry on an improved contract.
Experienced keeper McLaughlin is out of contract in the summer but is set to pen an extension. The 34-year-old has made 10 top-team appearances this season and has proved to be the long-term back-up to Allan McGregor.
McGregor, 39, is also out of contract in the summer and there has been no definitive decision yet as to whether or not he will continue playing.
Regardless of that call, Rangers know they will have a more than adequate back-up or replacement with McLaughlin and then Robby McCrorie, both of whom would provide stiff competition for the gloves.
