The couple, who share 10-year-old son Cruz, had been living together but separately in the run up to lockdown, but agreed to go their separate ways before the coronavirus pandemic reached its peak.
Speaking for the first time about their split on the Britain Get Talking podcast, Alex told newsreader Kylie Pentelow how it happened. "It's been a massive learning curve, I didn't think at the age of 20 that when I was approaching 40, I would be in this situation," said the 39-year-old GMB star. "The age of 40, you'll be married, you'll be a grown up, you'll have a kid or two, your life is going to be set.
