Aldi to open new Scots store today as part of multi-million pound expansion plan

Exciting news for Aldi shoppers in Scotland, as the supermarket is opening the doors to its latest branch in Macduff, Banffshire today (December 5.)The highly anticipated store marks part of the budget retailer's multi-million pound expansion plan, bringing its high quality products at low prices to more communities just ahead of the expensive Christmas shopping madness.Plans for the latest Scots store were first announced back in November.

It joins three other stores across the UK enjoying a grand opening today - Sedgley in West Midlands, Horsham in West Sussex and Muswell Hill in London.It comes as the supermarket chain has ramped up its expansion plans towards the end of the year, with a store in Castle Douglas opening in early November.

Aldi has said that its new four stores have created more than 100 new jobs in total. The latest openings form part of the grocer's £800 million investment plan that will see it expand its presence across the UK.

Its commitment will see it bring high quality food at low prices to new areas, with a long-term plan of operating 1,500 stores.
