Alder Hey Children's Hospital has revealed for the first time that Southport murderer Axel Rudakubana was under its mental health services' care.
The children's hospital trust confirmed that the child killer was under its services between 2019 and 2023, but he ceased engagement with those services after February 2023, reports the Liverpool Echo.
On Thursday, the 18-year-old received a minimum sentence of 52 years for the murders of Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King and Elsie Dot Stancombe, as well as the attempted murder of eight other children and two adults at the Hart Space in Southport last July.
Following his unexpected guilty pleas earlier this week, there have been numerous revelations about Rudakubana's contact with various services in the years preceding the attack and questions raised over why more wasn't done to stop him.
