Calum Gallagher knows he must be more clinical this season after making the step up to the Championship - so he was happy to show a killer instinct when his big chance came to finish off Raith Rovers.The striker netted the only goal of the game on Saturday as Airdrie stunned in-form Raith with a narrow 1-0 win, courtesy of an impressive first-time strike after a move involving 25 passes in the build-up, and some great work by Gabby McGill.It was the type of finish the Airdrie faithful were used to seeing last term, as the hitman netted 22 goals in League One on his way to earning the club promotion and the PFA Player of the Year prize in the division.A step up in standard means an upturn in the quality of opposition, so Gallagher is happy he has been able to rise to the occasion so far with three goals in six league outings so far.But he knows he will have to be more clinical than ever to have Airdrie competing at the top end of the table again this term.He said: "From my perspective as a striker, the biggest difference in the step up is the quality of the boys playing around you means you don't get three or four chances a game."You maybe only get one, so it is just about being alert enough to take it when it comes."The boys were creating and we were getting up the pitch, moving it well, but it was just that final pass or decision that wasn't clicking."But for the goal itself, I can't wait to see it back because Gabby has come across to the far side, he's picked the ball up, demanded the ball, he's driven forward, played the one-two, continued to drive amongst three Raith players and then slipped a wee pass into me."I didn't know too much about it at the time, I just hit it early on the turn so it is a relief to see it
