Anton Dowds' third goal in three games helped Ayr to an important win on the road at Airdrie. The on loan Partick striker added to a first half opener from Logan Chalmers before a United were forced to withstand a late Airdrie rally to secure the points.Ayr had made three changes from the side beaten by Raith last week with Jay Senga in for a first start in midfield, while Mark McKenzie and George Stanger also returned to the starting line-up.
