Farida always feared she would be faced with the same horrific from which her mother died. Then her nightmares became a reality.
Approaching the same age that her mother died from the condition, Farida Anderson says she had an unnerving feeling she would be the next in line from her family to get a devastating breast cancer diagnosis.
The mum-of-three was invited for early mammogram breast screening following the death of her mum, Miriam, at the age of 48. It was following one of these tests when doctors noticed an abnormality in Farida's left breast.
Farida 's biggest fears became reality when she was diagnosed with HER2 positive breast cancer at the beginning of 2013, shortly after her 50th birthday.
