Airdrie boss Rhys McCabe says his side had to fight and scrap for their 1-0 win over Clyde at New Douglas Park, against a side that's fighting for their lives.Lewis Jamieson bagged the winner with a flick on the rebound after his late penalty was parried by Neil Parry, but Airdrie had to hold on for what was a good win. It's a fifth goal in three games for the on-loan St Mirren striker which consigns Clyde to 11 straight League One defeats, and keeps Airdrie sixth in the table.Player-boss McCabe said: "It's one of those games.

We knew the run that Clyde had been on, we knew it was going to be difficult."I was under no illusion that we were going to come here and win the game really comfortably."I know what's going on with Clyde, they're fighting for their lives and every point and clean sheet counts for them, and I knew it was going to be a tough game."It was about trusting that, I think in the second half we kept the pressure on, forcing them to defend, and you can only do that so much."Cammy Ballantyne, I think it was, goes forward, plays a neat one-two with Charlie Telfer, who plays a cute wee pass inside and we got the penalty."To be fair I think it is a stonewall penalty, and LJ gets the rebound so I'm delighted."We'd like to win 4-0, like we did last week, every week, but we know that's not going to happen."But it's a win away from home, another clean sheet, and there are loads of positives."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
