Celtic legend Martin O'Neill reckons the next Rangers boss will have to launch a massive January recruitment drive if they are to catch Ange Postecoglou's league leaders.

The defending champions are on course for a second consecutive title victory with the Scottish Premiership on hold during the World Cup, with Postecoglou's men holding a nine point advantage over their city rivals.

That lead saw the Rangers board decide to axe Gio van Bronckhorst as they look to appoint a new boss to kick-start their campaign and push Celtic for top spot.
