Livingston striker Bruce Anderson says he's thankful to Hamilton for a loan spell last season that opened his eyes to life at Premiership level. The forward won February's Player of the Month after a fantastic run of form for Livingston, who he joined last summer after leaving Aberdeen. It's a move that came after a fruitful loan stint at Accies from Pittodrie in the second half of last season.Despite Hamilton's eventual relegation, Anderson shone and contributed to six goals in 14 matches.

This term, he's scored 13 goals with five assists. While thankful for Aberdeen and his manager there, Derek McInnes, he had to move on to Livingston after an important spell in Hamilton. He told the Sunday Mail : “As soon as I heard there was an interest from Livingston then there was only place I wanted to move to and it’s working out brilliantly. “Moving on loan to Hamilton last season forced me to open my eyes.

It showed me so much about playing at a first-team level and being focused on taking a step forward in my career.“I had to go to Accies and prove that I was good enough to play at this level.

I could have gone back to Aberdeen and been comfortable and remained at home with my family – but I needed to get away and keep improving.“My career had stalled a bit at Aberdeen and I wasn’t getting the game time I needed.
