A24‘s prison theater drama Sing Sing, starring Colman Domingo, is set to begin streaming exclusively on Max on March 21. The film will debut on HBO linear on March 22 at 8:00 p.m.

ET. Directed by Greg Kwedar, Sing Sing follows Divine G (Domingo), who while imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose by acting in a theatre group alongside other incarcerated men, including a wary newcomer (Clarence Maclin).

The film is inspired by the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at New York’s Sing Sing Correctional Facility.

A notable aspect of the production was the casting of real-life formerly incarcerated individuals, many of whom were alumni of the RTA program.
