A man was killed, another man is fighting for his life in hospital and a pair were taken to hospital with 'major trauma-related injuries' in a night of tragedy on the roads around Greater Manchester.
Police responded to a number of serious crashes in and near our region yesterday afternoon and last night (Thursday), including a fatal incident in Radcliffe.
A stretch of the M6 was shut off as emergency services responded to a crash between two HGVs and a car and a man was rushed to hospital after being knocked down in a hit-and-run.
In the first of the incidents, police, paramedics and fire crews were called to a crash on the M6 northbound at around 12.30pm.
