After nearly eight years at the publication, Radhika Jones told her staff and scribes today that she’s exiting as Editor-in-Chief. “Those of you who know me well know that I can be a little restless, once a mission is accomplished,’ the Time, New York Times and Paris Review alum wrote Thursday to her Condé Nast colleagues.

So I’ve made the decision to leave Vanity Fair this spring.” Gearing up for this year’s Met Gala, Vogue queenpin and Condé Nast chief content officer Anna Wintour spoke to staff today as news of Jones departure got out. “Radhika has shown herself to be as much at home on the red carpet as sitting front row, and has graciously hosted the most legendary party in Hollywood.
She has done it all with poise and wit and wisdom,” she said. Wintour added: “In the coming weeks, Radhika will be helping us with the transition as we start the search for a new editor,” Wintour continued. “We look forward to Vanity Fair’s exciting next chapter.
